Trendmetric is an independent editorial site that checks viral weight-loss and wellness trends against what's actually known, and discloses clearly when a page links to a paid offer.
What We Do
A new "trick" or "hack" goes viral on short-form video seemingly every week. Most of these videos have about 30 seconds to make their case, which is rarely enough time to explain where an idea actually comes from, what the underlying science supports, or where the framing has outrun the evidence. Trendmetric exists to fill in that gap: for each trend we cover, we explain the real mechanism where one exists, note what's genuinely uncertain, and say plainly when a popular claim isn't supported.
How We Research
Our starting point for any trend is published nutrition and medical research, plus reporting from established health and news outlets that have covered the same trend. We separate the underlying, testable mechanism (for example, how protein affects appetite) from the marketing framing layered on top of it (for example, calling that same mechanism a "secret trick"). Where a claim is genuinely unresolved or under-studied, we say so instead of rounding it up to a firm yes or no.
How Trendmetric Reviews Viral Trends
We separate the base claim from the surrounding hype: what's biologically plausible, what's exaggerated, and what a longer explanation covers that a short clip can't.
How This Site Makes Money
Some pages on Trendmetric link to a third-party product as an affiliate/sponsored link. These links are clearly marked, and buttons that lead off-site say so directly (for example, "you'll be taken to a partner site"). If you click through and make a purchase, Trendmetric may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That relationship never changes what we write about the trend itself: our explanation of the mechanism and evidence is the same whether or not a given page happens to link to an offer.
What This Site Is Not
- Not medical advice. Nothing on this site should replace guidance from a licensed doctor or dietitian.
- Not a clinical study. We synthesize existing, published research and reporting; we don't run our own trials.
- Not a guarantee. Individual results from any diet, food trend, or supplement vary, and we don't promise a specific outcome.
